Terms of service

1. The service

xscraper is an API that returns public data from X (Twitter): profiles, tweets, search results, followers, lists and trends. The documentation describes each endpoint and its price. We may add, change or remove endpoints.

2. Your account

• Use a real email address you can read, and keep your password safe.
• You are responsible for everything done with your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old.
• The free sign-up tokens are for one person or company once. Do not create extra accounts or use throwaway email addresses to collect them again.

3. API keys

Your API key is a secret. Keep it on your server and never put it in browser or mobile app code. You are responsible for every call made with your key. If it leaks, rotate it in the dashboard at once. We may revoke a key we believe is exposed or misused.

4. Tokens and prices

• Each call costs the price shown in the documentation at the time of the call.
• A call is charged only when it succeeds. Failed calls are refunded, except a 404 (not found), which is a real answer and is charged.
• New accounts get free tokens after confirming their email. The amount is shown on the sign-up page and may change.
• Tokens have no cash value. They cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged, and unused tokens are lost when an account is deleted or closed.
• We may change prices. New prices apply only to calls made after the change.
• Tokens cannot be bought at the moment. If we start selling them, we will add the payment terms here before that happens.

5. Fair use

Rate limits and limits on calls running at the same time protect the service for everyone. You agree not to:

• get around these limits, for example with several accounts or keys, or by rotating IP addresses;
• overload, disrupt or attack the service, or test its security without our written permission;
• resell or share access to the API as your own service without our written permission.

6. How you may use the data

You are responsible for how you use the data you get from the API, and for following the laws that apply to you, including data protection and privacy laws: the data can include personal information about people on X. X's own terms and the rights of the people who posted the content may also apply. You agree not to use the service or its data to:

• harass, stalk, threaten or expose anyone, or track individuals without a lawful reason;
• discriminate against people or make unlawful decisions about them;
• send spam or run misleading campaigns;
• do anything else that is illegal where you or the affected people are.

7. Data from X

We do not own or control the data X publishes. We do not promise that it is complete, correct or up to date, or that a given account, tweet or feature will stay available. X can change or limit access at any time, and some endpoints may then return errors or less data.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may pause it for maintenance, and we may change or stop it. Before a significant change, we try to give notice by email or in the documentation.

9. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time in the dashboard settings. We may suspend or close an account or key that breaks these terms, puts the service or other users at risk, or when the law requires it. We tell you first unless the problem is urgent.

10. No warranty

The service is provided as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we give no warranties, including that it fits a particular purpose.

11. Limits of our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost business, and our total responsibility is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit.

If someone makes a claim against us because you used the service or its data in breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim.

12. Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we update the date at the top. We email account holders about significant changes at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the new terms.
